Sophisticated Kink - I decided to have "Sophisticated Kink" be the first song on the CD because it's so different from any other song on the disc. I had the vision of a huge club in the Red Light District when I wrote the lyrics and I wanted the song to have that club feel. It's one of the two songs that Michael wrote alone for the album and I wish I could take credit for it. There's a perfect balance in this song. Days upon days of seeing the horror that was happening in these united states of America. I watched so many people suffering, needlessly. And as I watched one of my favorite cities in the world, New Orleans, drown in not only water but misery and despair, "Forgotten" came to me. It's a song that starts out angry but ends up strong and powerful and with a sense of hope and pride. I knew I wanted this song to be vocally powerful therefore I recruited some of my favorite people to join me. Nikki E. Walker, John Centurri and Nathan Gehan all gave of their valuable time and came into the studio to give incredible performances. The combination of Kate Bush and piano is a powerful one . But, aside from this fact, I wanted to do my own version of the song and I approached Michael to help me with it. So with Kate Bush Complete on hand and a copy of the original, we came up with this version. It was important to be in character for this song and I wanted there to be a feeling of being in that garden; a rainy, wet garden. It is our tribute to Kate's brilliance. Info	Buy MP3

This is a record we released back in 2006. Even though I feel I was a different person then, I can still listen to this record and be proud of the music and what we accomplished. Sophisticated Kink is the result of believing that anything is possible. We had no budget and when it came time to record, mix, master and get the actual CDs made, it all came together.

I plan to work on more music that will hopefully reflect the person I am today. I'm excited and looking forward to that process.

Dan Reed - Coming Up for Air

The title 'Coming Up For Air' came to me when I arrived to Jerusalem. I had just spent a year living in India, including 4 months among the Tibetan people in the Himalayan mountains and felt that coming back to writing music after 4 months living in a Tibetan Monastery guest house was very much like coming back from the edge of darkness, breathing again, learning to find a new love for music, a love for melody and the power of lyrics. Jerusalem was for me a perfect blend of ancient eastern culture mixing with modern western culture, and it was here that I built a new production studio to begin recording the new songs I had started writing while living in India, and continued to write in the Middle East. . .

Sirs - Black Friday Sessions

Sirs "The Black Friday Sessions" is a footnote in the life of three college mates. Written over the course of a couple of years, this trio's debut album proves to be a fascinating look at life in sometimes the most unusual and thought provoking ways. From finding love in the grocery aisles to a song based on Jean-Paul Sartre's "No Exit" to the glories of being goth in high school, "The Black Friday Sessions" proves to have something for everyone. The variety in sonic textures proves to be a mash up of lots of influences from Jeff Buckley to Rusted Root to De La Soul to The Violent Femmes. One thing is for certain, instead of shopping one Black Friday, they chronicled 10 tracks for you.

Kate Pazakis - Unzipped: Live at the Zipper [Live]

Downtown diva Kate Pazakis's fans have long clamored for a recording. Now at long last, she's unveiling her debut album, KATE PAZAKIS UNZIPPED: LIVE AT THE ZIPPER, recorded during her sold-out engagements in December, 2008, at New York's famed Zipper Factory.
