Downtown diva Kate Pazakis's fans have long clamored for a recording. Now at long last, she's unveiling her debut album, KATE PAZAKIS UNZIPPED: LIVE AT THE ZIPPER, recorded during her sold-out engagements in December, 2008, at New York's famed Zipper Factory. During this exhilarating mix of pop, rock, country and music theatre, Kate hits new musical and emotional highs in such covers as Cyndi Lauper's "I'm Gonna Be Strong" and Alanis Morissette's "Hand in My Pocket," illuminating these classic songs in original ways. But this debut disc also unzips the artist behind the legendary belt, as such tracks as Carole King's "So Far Away" reveal a more personal and intimate side. As a special bonus, Tony Award-winning songwriter Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years) has come aboard as arranger and composer, penning a new song, "Clarissa's Last Stand," especially for Kate to premiere here.
